The spirit of sportsmanship lit up Gajera International School, Utran today as we came together for the Annual Sports Prize Distribution Ceremony. With the playgrounds quiet for a day, the auditorium buzzed with energy, proud parents, and the smiles of students who had given their best on and off the field.
The event began with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony, symbolizing knowledge and the drive to excel. Our Principal warmly welcomed the dignitaries, parents, teachers, and students. In the welcome address, the focus was clear: today was about celebrating effort as much as victory.
We were privileged to have our Academic Director, Mr. Jayesh Patel, Principals of other departments, our dedicated Sports In-charge join us. Their presence made the day special for every student. They personally handed over trophies, medals, and certificates, congratulating each achiever with encouraging words.
The ceremony honoured winners of our Annual Sports Day, from track events to team games. But we went a step further. We felicitated students who represented the school beyond our campus: Zonal and District level winners who brought home laurels, State level participants and champions who competed with the best in Gujarat, National and International level participants and winners who put our school on bigger maps. Importantly, we recognized that reaching the state, national, or international stage itself takes grit. So, both participants and medal winners at these levels were awarded trophies and prizes. Their dedication, training hours, and courage to compete deserve equal applause.
Inviting parents of the winners was intentional. Watching their children receive honours on stage, many parents were visibly moved. The cheers, photos, and proud hugs made the auditorium feel like one big family. It’s a reminder that behind every athlete is a support system of parents, coaches, and teachers.
Sports teach us to win with humility and lose with grace. Today’s ceremony reflected that whether a student stood first or simply gave their personal best at a higher-level meet, we celebrated the journey. To all our students: keep playing, keep pushing, and keep enjoying the game. You’ve made us proud. Here’s to more victories, and more lessons, in the year ahead.
