Cultivating Green Synergy: Maker’s Day Celebration under Plant a Smile Campaign
Today, our students embarked on an exciting journey to explore and appreciate the natural world around them as we celebrated Maker’s Day under ‘Plant a Smile’ campaign. Today’s theme was ’Green Synergy’, which aimed to foster environmental awareness, teamwork, and creativity.
Our students from Grades 5 and 6 took on the challenge of identifying and documenting the diverse plant species on our school campus. With curiosity and enthusiasm, they prepared informative placards highlighting the unique characteristics of each plant. These placards were then strategically placed in front of the corresponding plants, transforming our campus into a vibrant, interactive botanical garden.
Meanwhile, students from Grades 6, 7, and 8 delved into the fascinating realm of medicinal plants. Through engaging PowerPoint presentations, they showcased the incredible health benefits and traditional uses of various plant species. This informative project not only honed their research skills but also instilled a deeper appreciation for nature’s pharmacy.
The Green Synergy theme encapsulates our commitment to nurturing environmentally conscious, creative, and critical thinkers. By engaging in hands-on activities, our students developed essential skills in scientific inquiry and observation, collaboration and teamwork, creative expression and communication, and environmental stewardship and responsibility.
Our ‘Plant a Smile’ initiative strives to spread happiness, kindness, and sustainability through community-driven projects. Today’s celebration demonstrated the power of collective effort in fostering a greener, more compassionate world.
7th October 2024 will be etched in our memories as a vibrant celebration of innovation, nature, and teamwork. We proudly acknowledge the creativity, enthusiasm, and dedication displayed by our students and teachers. As we continue on this journey, we remain committed to cultivating a love for learning, a sense of wonder, and a deep connection with our natural world.
