Raising Future Leaders: Youth Parliament Competition

Raising Future Leaders: Youth Parliament Competition

In commemoration of National Youth Day, our school organized an engaging and insightful Youth Parliament Competition for students of Grades 7 to 9 and Grade 11 (Science and Commerce). The event aimed to nurture leadership qualities, critical thinking, and public speaking skills among students—qualities that reflect the spirit of Swami Vivekananda, whose birth anniversary we celebrate on this day.

The simulated parliamentary session brought the atmosphere of a real legislature into the school premises. Students took on various parliamentary roles such as the Speaker, Prime Minister, Ministers, Opposition Members, and independent representatives. With remarkable enthusiasm and confidence, they presented debates on selected issues, raised questions, passed resolutions, and showcased how democratic discussions help shape policies for the nation.

The participants impressed the audience with their well-researched arguments, disciplined conduct, and articulate presentation. The competition not only encouraged them to understand the procedural aspects of the Parliament but also helped them appreciate the importance of dialogue, responsibility, and respect for diverse viewpoints.

Teachers and judges applauded the students for their preparation, teamwork, and maturity in handling sensitive topics. The event successfully met its objective of fostering civic awareness and empowering young minds to think critically about the society they live in.

The Youth Parliament served as a meaningful platform for students to voice their ideas and experience the essence of democratic participation—truly a fitting tribute to National Youth Day.
